To Raise Awareness On Domestic Violence In Minnesota
We are hosting our 2nd Annual Turn The Volume Up On Peace Week for Minnesota coming up on October 22nd – 30th for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This year we are kicking off our 2nd Annual Turn The Volume Up On Peace Week with the “Ballin 4 Peace” Streetball Event on October 22nd & 23rd, with special Celebrity Guests!!
This “Ballin 4 Peace” Streetball Event which is all kicking off right here in Minnesota at North Community High School who is facing the possibility of being closed forever. We are here to help the community raise its voice and be heard on local issues. So come out and support the Local Movement and help make our childrens communities a better place to live, learn, and grow.
This has been a tough year and we need to do all we can to help Stop The Violence in Minnesota and keep our communities safe for everyone. We feel it all starts with education and faith that it will create a better future for everyone on this planet.
That being said, we have brought together some very notable talent coupled with local non-profits and the Arts Community that also have a desire to put their voices and talents to the cause of spreading a non-violent message that will help lead a new movement of savvy Youth Development opportunities. The arts and athletic industry are seeing a new way to use their talents to promote this thought provoking brand of Edu-tainment all over the world. Starting with supporting the efforts of the volunteers and helping hands in the great state of MINNESOTA!!
Special thanks to our Local Sponsor for this great week!!

Vigilant Promotions is proud to collaborate with KRS-ONE’s Temple Of Hip Hop and the Minnesota Hip Hop community in order to make a statement about the contribution and duty we have to one another throughout the arts community.
Our Purpose For This Event:
· We are commemorating the 45th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson. This Bill suspended literacy tests and allocated federal exami...ners to the South.
· Additionally we are donating a portion of the proceeds to The Prayer Center at 821 ½ West Broadway in Minneapolis who is facing an impending eviction. Jariland Spence is doing very important work for members of the Hip Hop community so lets give her some help and get people out to this event!

Vigilant Promotions is currently working with Stop The Violence to produce the 2009 International Stop The Violence Summit and album release consisting of 30 artists from 4 countries that will encourage violence awareness and support to their local communities.
We will be producing live events in each of the 30 artists respective countries, regions, and states/cities. These on-going live events will consist of local Stop The Violence Summits, Conferences, Fundraisers, Benefits, etc. which help deepen relationships at the local level, increasing the awareness and support needed by the community in order to implement Stop The Violence programs.
At that time it is also our goal to organize a locally produced full-length album that will be titled “Stop The Violence: *Name of local chapter*" which will continue to build awareness and further support from communities at the local level. This will also ensure additional live events for future efforts that will continue to support local communities.
Starting in November 2009, these 30 artists, along with numerous music industry professionals in the United States, will be gathering in San Francisco CA to meet and discus the current issues surrounding violence in their communities. Our goals for the 2009 International Stop The Violence Summit is to engage communication on the cultural distortions surrounding violence in today’s world, create new solutions for communities to participate in raising awareness and aid for local organizations, as well as creating new opportunities.
Throughout the 2009 International Stop The Violence Summit, these 30 participating artists will record a full-length compilation album that will be titled “Stop The Violence: An International Movement” inspired entirely by the Summits ideas and solutions for local support. This full-length album will be used in the efforts to build awareness about the movement and help build the local level support needed to truly help Stop The Violence.
