St. Cloud State University's top conference for personal growth and leadership development returns to Atwood Memorial Center with an expanded array of workshops, speakers, discussions, career opportunities, social gatherings, and entertainment.
The 3rd Annual Power In Diversity Leadership Conference will offer opportunities for personal growth and leadership development to college students through a variety of workshops, keynote addresses, and programs, each selected based on their vision of how to empower individuals and groups to bring about change. Conference activities are aimed at balancing the focus between academia, career preparation, and social networking, all in the spirit of change. The concept of change is not limited to the activist sense of the word; we are also encouraging participants to envision change through their education, their career choice, and the personal choices that they make.
A popular feature of the conference is the Diversity Job and Internship Fair featuring some of Minnesota's largest employers allowing students to connect with employers who are particularly interested in recruiting diverse employees. Social activities will include a student variety show, conference socials, a step show, cosmic bowling, and other evening activities.
Also this year Dr Cornel West is our Keynote Speaker who will be presented after the new and highly anticipated Minnesota Hip Hop Summit that will be accompanied by a workshop called Hip Hop: The Intelligent Movement. Vigilant Promotions and Hip Hop Congress

Energize.. Organize.. Revolutionize.
The Hip Hop Congress provides the Hip Hop Generation and the Post Hip Hop Generation with the tools, resources and opportunities to make social, economic and political change on a local, regional and national level. Hip Hop Congress is the product of a merger of artists and students, music and community.
Its Chapter Program develops chapters in universities, high schools and communities. Hip Hop Congress currently has over 30 chapters. Hip Hop Congress chapters engage in a range of activity promoting hip hop culture on their campus or in their community. Hip Hop Congress chapters produce or sponsor hundreds of events a year focusing on hip hop history and culture, as well as the social and political issues hip hop addresses. Events sponsored include panels, speeches, element exhibitions/battles (emcee/bboy/dj/graffiti), awareness festivals, screenings, etc.
Its Artist Program is designed to help artists pool resources, sell music and take advantage of all the opportunities the music industry has to offer without giving away the rights to their works in return. It strives to create an international web of resources and contacts for its artist members. The network is run via regional delegates and a national oversight committee. Some Hip Hop Congress artists include Shamako Noble, The Procussions, DLabrie, Rahman Jamaal, Aloe Blacc from Emanon, La Boussole (Le Havre, France), the Bedouin, and Jacka and Husalah of the Mob Figaz.
As many services within the educational system become privatized, more and more institutions are looking to independent contractors and consultants for program design and execution. In addition, the application and addition of Urban Arts into the education system through youth centers, events and generational shifts is becoming all the more common. Hip Hop Congress, as a national and international organization that is dedicated to its mission, is constantly looking to develop and work with those developing experimental and pedagogically proven methods of using Hip Hop as a positive motivational and academic tool. Thats why HHC has picked up Education as an initiative and centralization point for its artists, chapters, partners, and donors.
Hip Hop Congress leadership is comprised of artists, educators, activists, and community leaders. As an active think tank, Hip Hop Congress leadership is constantly developing progressive initiatives to foster inspiration and action in local communities. The leadership also develops strategic partnerships with other organizations throughout the country to promote and engage in social action, civic service, and cultural creativity.

The Jimi Liquid Experience
Vigilant Promotions is proud to announce that we will be coordinating all National Grassroots Operations at The Liquid Experience Group, throughout the United States and Canada. Because of our consistent effort to provide numerous outlets for indie musicians, The Liquid Experience Group, will also be having Vigilant Promotions head out their Field Marketing & Street Promotional efforts for their Liquid Experience Live events. These events will be featuring live music of local, regional, and national musicians throughout the US and Canada.
About The Liquid Experience Group
The Liquid Experience Group, a division of Beverage Concepts, LLC, was founded in 2006 to blend the energy and excitement of the music industry, with the opportunities of the specialty beverage market, in order to encourage people to become involved in a movement of charitable living.
The first of these efforts is the partnership between The Liquid Experience and MusiCares. This is an integral and monumental first step towards realizing the overall vision-quest for The Liquid Experience Group. The two organizations share many common thoughts, including but not limited to music education, creative interactive programs, community involvement, the protection of music legacies, even artist assistance and rehabilitation programs.
The first line of beverages to embody this vision is the Jimi Hendrix branded line of drinks named The Jimi Hendrix Liquid Experience. The first flavor available, an infusion of mixed berries, aptly named Voodoo Vibe. A portion of all sales will be donated to chartable organizations, including MusiCares, and other music-focused charities.
From it's debut release in April of 2007 to date, Liquid Experience has gone from selling regionally to internationally... an unheard of pace in todays marketplace. Combine that with The Liquid Experience Groups mission to not only promote awareness of artists, but also offer support to artists, and create a movement for charitable living. Its clear to see why theres been so much buzz regarding this young entity.
